Review of related literature

The author discusses in this chapter the background on which he based his work.

The choice of the Perl language is discussed in section 2.1; section 2.2 describes what is a wrapper, what does it need to run and different strategies to run it and talks about the potential risks and pitfalls of using a wrapper. Finally, in section 2.3 the pertinent RFCs --the documents that gave birth to most Internet protocols-- are analyzed.
